Stone Coated Steel emulates the look of other roofing options—barrel vault tile, conventional tile, shake and dimensional shingle roofs.  What really sets it apart, however, is that it is reinforced with steel panels that are protected from the elements by corrosion-resistant Galvalume. Gerard Stone Coated Steel (our preferred product) is walkable, low maintenance and lightweight. The Gerard basecoat uses proprietary resins, developed over many years, to promote lifetime performance in all climates. The stone chips that Gerard uses in its Stone Coating are non-oiled natural granite granules that improve adherence to the basecoat while enhancing the appearance of the panels.
